KeyShot Studio VR, formerly KeyVR, turns prepared KeyShot scenes into interactive design reviews. Explore products at scale, compare variations and review a design together in a shared virtual space.
License and workflow
This listing is a one-user, one-year Studio VR subscription. It covers the VR application; the KeyShot Studio authoring license and VR hardware are separate. Purchasing the VR add-on for a current Professional or Business plan requires an active KeyShot Studio subscription. Studio VR is included with Enterprise. The VR application can run on a separate compatible PC.
Prepare the model, materials, cameras, environments and animation in KeyShot Studio, then open the saved BIP or KSP scene in Studio VR. Subscription activation uses your KeyShot Account and requires an internet connection.
What you can do
- Switch between model sets, material alternatives, environments and saved cameras.
- Play supported animations and inspect products from different viewpoints.
- Move objects, change user scale and take measurements.
- Use desktop viewing or a compatible PC-connected VR headset.
- Join multi-user Studio VR Connect sessions for collaborative reviews.
Important compatibility details
VR rendering has its own material and lighting capabilities. Scenes use triangle geometry; NURBS geometry must be tessellated. Some materials need baking, and global illumination, Studios and the Configurator are not supported in VR. Connect participants need the same scene version and a direct connection through the same LAN or a VPN. See the CG River VR compatibility guide.
PC and headset requirements
- Windows 10 or later; 800 MB available disk space.
- Minimum guideline: 8 GB RAM, Intel Core i5 7th-generation four-core CPU and NVIDIA GTX 1080 8 GB, or equivalent.
- Recommended guideline: 32 GB RAM, Intel Core i7 9th-generation eight-core CPU and NVIDIA RTX 2070 8 GB, or equivalent.
Complex scenes and higher-resolution headsets may need more powerful hardware. VR mode requires a compatible OpenXR runtime and PC-connected headset. Quest and Pico headsets use the Windows PC application through a wired or supported wireless connection. Check the CG River headset compatibility guide and VR system requirements.
