Texturing a Product Package
A series of 8 training videos from Javis Jones
Building on the foundation of his first tutorial, “Modeling a Product Package”, Javis Jones demonstrates his unique approach to surfacing, texturing and rendering a convincing product shot.
In this tutorial, Javis walks you through the process of applying and layering images in the Shader Tree, using Shader Tree Instances, working with Shaders, increasing realism with the Thin Film shader, and working with and layering Procedural textures.
Javis also covers basic lighting for the final render, demonstrating best practices to achieve high-quality results using area lights, environment maps and global illumination. Render Passes are also covered for those interested in creating variations of their final renders.
By the end of this tutorial, you will have a basic understanding of working with MODO’s flexible Shader Tree, understanding how MODO applies images, and how to avoid common problems encountered along the way. This is a steady-paced, easy to follow tutorial that covers a lot of ground making it perfect for helping beginners understand basic product visualization workflow in MODO.
